Painful Feet
Often people’s lower body mechanics become misaligned causing pain and discomfort in the ankle, heel, foot or toes, can even be the cause of your back ache.
This can be due to a number of reasons, bunions or toe deformities, flat feet (pronation), high arches (supination), leg length discrepancy (due to hip replacement) bruised heel (Policeman’s heel), Plantar Fasciitis and heel pain are some of the prognosis that could be causing you pain.
Richard can assess and measure your foot and leg movement and where appropriate recommend wearing precision crafted orthoses (custom made insole) which will be tailored to fit your exact needs making a huge difference to your discomfort and leave you feeling like you’re ‘Walking on Air’.
Standard Insoles
We offer prefabricated or non-casted insoles, which placed inside your shoes offer support to the arch of your foot allowing a even distribution of weight, thus providing relief for Plantar Fascitis, Metatarsalgia (forefoot pain), patients with minor foot/toe deformities or those suffering from runners knee.
These are less expensive than custom made Orthotics and can be an effective solution plus they can be adapted slightly.
Once purchased Richard (our specialist in Biomechanics) would assess your satisfaction, pain level and functional ability.
As these are readily available they have a minimal waiting time, although it must be noted that these are only for moderate foot correction.
Precision crafted custom made Orthotics
These are custom made and designed to fit your foot in order to correct any structural or functionality anomalies.
They are particularly useful for patients suffering from severe symptoms or those taking part in lots of sporting activites.
These are produced from a mould taken of your foot, along with specific measurements taken at your appointment.
They offer comfort and precision and can be fully modified after initial production, therefore if your prescription changes there is no need for a complete replacement.
As they fit your foot, they can be used in different types of footwear, adapted to fit your lifestyle, made from modern lightweight material that ensures they last longer than normal insoles. From lifetime guarantees to specific sporting activities (football, running, even golf!)
Normal period of time from appointment to delivery is 3 weeks, although can be rushed through for emergency treatment.
